MNC is an early intervention centre for families and children aged 0 to 6 years with intellectual disabilities and associated conditions. We provide a supportive and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow, and develop essential skills. Recognition Over the Years
MNC’s journey of achievement began with the launch of the Upanayan Early Intervention Program by Mother Teresa in 1992. This pioneering program has been accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India and has served as a transformative model for government early intervention centers across Tamil Nadu. The Centre’s leadership has been recognized at both national and state levels, earning prestigious honors such as the ‘Best Institution Award’ from the Tamil Nadu Government in 1995 and the National Award for Outstanding Institutions in 2004.

Mission
- To Provide services in Prevention, Early Detection, Identification and Early Intervention in Intellectual Disability
- To Empower parents and family members in the care and management of children with disability
- To Undertake any other responsibility in, making “Inclusion” a reality for the child
- To Disseminate information on creating awareness, updating of knowledge in Intellectual Disability and associated conditions among professionals in the field and the general public
- To Start a Training Academy to conduct recognized courses in Special Education

Objectives And Activities
Objective 1: Providing Early Intervention Services for the Habilitation of the Child with Intellectual Disability through
- Early detection through direct communication and referrals
- Early identification using the Upanayan assessment tool
- Implementation of the Early Intervention program Upanayan
- Providing support systems through the projects–Annapoorna, Sankarshana, Samyam, Sambhavam and Sanmargam
- Establishing a Montessori unit at the Centre to create a pre-school environment prior to education in mainstreaming
